When it comes to repairing colour damage on leather, there are several ways to achieve a professional finish. One option is to use our Leather Repair Paint, which is designed to repair scuffs, scratches and colour loss on all leather items such as car seats and sofas.
Our Leather Repair Paint is self-sealing, extremely flexible and hard wearing. It’s also easy to apply with a brush, sponge or airbrush.
In this blog, we’ll talk you through the ordering process to achieve the perfect colour match for your application.
As there are so many colours of leather possible, we have several options when it comes to ordering our Leather Repair Paint. This includes a database of standard colours and car colours. If these ranges are unsuitable, we offer an excellent colour matching service to match any colour to your sample of leather.
Take a closer look at the options for ordering below.
Our most popular colours, available to order by simply selecting the colour in the drop-down menu.
Our range of standard colours changed last year, and these now match our Leather Recolouring Balm Range.
Don’t worry - if you need one of the “old” standard colours, they are still available to order as custom colours. More on this below.
See our Standard Colour Chart.
A much larger range of pre-mixed colours made to order, for which you already have a reference code.
All matched colours are saved into a database, which means we can create a unique colour range for you or your company. To do this, select the Custom Colour option, then simply quote the reference number on your existing bottle.
If you’re reordering a standard colour, please check the label on the bottle for the code next to the colour name.
Please note that colours may vary slightly from batch to batch. We therefore recommend buying sufficient quantities at the outset to complete your whole project and mixing each bottle together before use.
The image below shows where to enter your colour code when ordering from our website.
We use the latest technology to date to offer an excellent colour matching service. All we need is a sample of leather.
To do this, simply select “send in a sample for colour match” when ordering and send us a sample in the post. The piece of leather must be larger than a postage stamp to allow us to perform a colour match. A sample can be taken from excess leather often found under car seats or around the headrest. For furniture, samples can often be found stapled underneath the item, or a sample could be taken from under removable seat pads. For more information on getting a leather sample, read this guide.
If you’re working with two-tone leather, it’s helpful to clarify whether you're after a match for the top colour, the base shade, or just a general blend. If you're not sure, just contact our Customer Services team — they’re happy to help and can guide you through it.
When it comes to colour matching, we do everything we can to get it just right. However, due to the nature of leather and its variations, in some cases the best we can offer is the closest possible shade — but we’ll always aim to get it as close as we can.
Please note, we need a physical sample from you and cannot match colours to images on a computer screen.
Many car manufacturers have reference codes available for their colours, which we have then used to pre-match our paint. Our car range includes colours from manufacturers such as BMW, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Mercedes.
If you can’t find the colour you require, you can use our colour matching service.

There are 16 base colours in this range, which can be mixed together to achieve any colour. Designed for professional colour matching.
Some of our mixing colours are available in LC and HC. LC stands for Low Concentrate and HC means High Concentrate. LC colours are more translucent, HC colours are more opaque. The right choice depends on your project and colour you're looking to match.
Please note: all standard, custom and colour matched colours come with an in-built sealant that has a satin finish. A thin coat of Leather Finish can also be used to adjust the sheen.
All of the above colour options are also available for our Leather Colourant, which is ideal for larger areas and commonly used by professionals.
Remember, we're always here to help if you need any further advice.
